Climbing Competition + Techno= Technocrux
The Technocrux event started with a Halloween design, with a skeleton that seemed to be falling and reaching for the next hold. The design originally said “climb the night” and was going to be sold as a t shirt for Halloween. When I collaborated with my friends who are a part of the local PERFECT DARK techno label we put together a techno show at the gym. When this was all put together we transformed the gym into a techno-climbing competition. I was responsible for the design of the ad poster, merchandise, sponsors from local businesses, lighting and hosting the event. There were lasers, blasting PA’s and a ton of great climbers pulling on our unique competition style routes. It is what I see as a culmination of my Chico climbing experience.

For the event t-shirts with the skeleton Technocrux design were made and sold both as preorders and during the competition.
POSTER FOR THE EVENT
Playing on the theme of the Halloween and the Techno poster tropes I made this cutout style poster that was printed onto the colored paper of choice that made each one pop with color.
